Meet Ashley

I'm so glad that you are here!

My name is Ashley and I am the creator and author of this blog, Ashley talks a lot... I have been blogging since 2008.  My first blog was called Putting God First Place and then I moved into this new space (formerly titled Fostering Love at Home) in September 2012.

I have been happily married for over 9 years to my hot stud of a husband Michael. We live in Louisville, KY, for the record I pronounce it LOU-a-vul. We are the proud parents to four amazing children that joined our family in April 2012 and were legally adopted in November 2013. You can read my journey to parenthood here and my foster adoption posts here.

Here is a picture of my family on November 22, 2013, the day our kids legally became ours forever. Our local news station also did a story about us.

This is my dream come true and I am amazed at how the Lord brought these children into our lives.

When I am not on the floor playing with my kids or reading aloud a picture book (The Three Grumpies is a favorite!), I could be found scrubbing dishes, browsing Pinterest, trying out a new recipe, reading a book, or trying to keep the laundry monster at bay. All in a day's work!

Before becoming parents, my husband and I walked through infertility together. I wrote about my journey through infertility and beyond in my first book How My Soul Yearns which I published in June 2011.

I released my second book, Everyone's Waiting for Something, into the world in May 2014.

My biggest adventure, so far, in writing was my third book, Blessed Chaos, which was published on November 22, 2014 and is about my journey to motherhood through foster adoption.

In 2015, I launched a non-profit ministry called Together in the Trenches to breathe life into weary foster and adoptive moms. Our big event is an annual overnight retreat. We also have a weekly newsletter and podcast

This life I live is not easy, some days I feel overwhelmed at the task of mothering these children, however I know that this is all the Lord's plan and I am truly in awe of how my life has come together. I am beyond blessed.
